State of MI Announces This Year’s Going PRO Talent Fund Awards

K was referred to Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) in September 2020 and attended orientation with Upper Peninsula Michigan Works! At the time, they were not interested in any programmatic assistance as they were not sure what their career goals were due to the pandemic.

Gov. Whitmer launches bipartisan $30M Michigan Reconnect program

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer joined today with Republican and Democratic legislators to announce the launch of the $30 million Michigan Reconnect program, the largest effort in state history to ensure that more than 4.1 million Michiganders who are 25 or older and do not have a college degree will have an opportunity to earn a tuition-free associate degree or skills certificate.
Adult Education Services Locator offers new onramp to careers

To assist Michiganders with Adult Education opportunities, the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) has launched a new online tool – the Adult Education Services Locator – which allows users to conduct custom searches and identify a variety of Adult Education programs, resources and high school equivalency testing centers available statewide.
U.P. Businesses Receive Grants from Going PRO Talent Fund

Last week, at least 850 Michigan businesses were awarded grants from the Going PRO Talent Fund. Upper Peninsula Michigan Works! Business Services Manager, Holly Peoples, says there was no better time like the present to get this funding.
