Jamie came to Upper Peninsula Michigan Works! (UPMW) as an application eligibility period (AEP) participant through PATH, a cash assistance program, in December 2020. She had over fourteen barriers including health problems, legal problems, financial troubles, and more.

Early in the pandemic, Upper Peninsula Michigan Works! (UPMW) was positioned to help frontline staff in the U.P. prepare for the looming threat of COVID-19. When Baraga County Memorial Hospital needed a safe, secure area to isolate well patients who needed routine services, we offered assistance.

It was just announced that Cortney Martin, also from UPMW, will be the JAG National Outstanding Specialist for Michigan, chosen for her Out-of-School program contributions. That makes back-to-back awards for UPMW employees!
