No Degree? No Problem! Michigan Reconnect and U.P. Michigan Works! Can Help

It can be daunting going back to school or entering the workforce, but you don’t have to navigate your education and career journey alone! Upper Peninsula Michigan Works! is here to offer personalized support and guidance through Michigan Reconnect (MiReconnect) to help you succeed both in school and beyond.

What is Reconnect and Why is it Important?

MiReconnect is a Michigan state program that helps adults go back to school tuition-free. It’s geared for Michigan residents who are 25 years or older and haven’t earned a college degree. The goal is to make higher education more accessible and affordable for working adults.

MiReconnect covers the cost of in-district tuition and mandatory fees at any public community college in Michigan. After you apply for federal financial aid, MiReconnect pays the remaining tuition balance. Students can pursue an associate degree or a skills certificate across a wide range of industries.

To qualify for MiReconnect, you must:
