Mari worked in education for sixteen years, but in 2019 she ventured out to become a Business Development Manager for a new company in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. About her prior job, Mari said, “It was pre-COVID. I attended a lot of meetings, had open houses in our office to talk about business growth, and heard about what was happening in our area from local businesses, government officials, and local stakeholders. I learned a lot and it was exciting! It opened my eyes to what was coming to this area and I wanted to be a part of it, so I joined Michigan Works!”
Mari started with Upper Peninsula Michigan Works! in February and now oversees the Chippewa, Mackinac, Luce, and Schoolcraft county offices.
