UPCC Building Trades Summer Camp
What is the UPCC Building Trades Summer Camp?
The Building Trades Summer Camp is a 5-week summer program designed to introduce high school students to the union construction industry. Students explore a variety of construction trades and build skills while learning in a controlled environment about high demand construction career opportunities.
Developed by the Upper Peninsula Construction Council (UPCC: a joint Labor/Management Council established and sponsored by affiliated signatory union contractors and building trades) in collaboration with UP Michigan Works and Local Education Agencies (ISD’s & RESA’s), this program is skill-based, industry approved, and directly linked to explicit real-world workplace experiences. Additionally, this is an EARN and LEARN opportunity where participants are paid $14/hour plus a $200 bonus upon completion.
