Safety and Occupational Health Specialist– Will perform duties assigned by the area/resident Engineer, will provide consultation and expert advice to field office construction managers on safety and occupational health requirements, standards and procedures. Will have the authority to formulate, interpret or implement management policies during the identification and elimination of hazardous equipment operations and unsafe working conditions on all Soo Area Office construction projects. Engineering Technician (Civil)– Responsible for the review of plans and specifications, change orders, contract modifications, conformance to contract requirements, preparing and/or processing periodic construction progress reports. Work performance requires technical skills and a broad knowledge of construction methods, techniques, materials, equipment, cots and safety practices and contractor quality control and quality assurance requirements. Construction Support Assistant– Responsible for the accomplishment of a variety of administrative support duties to help the supervisor. Will perform a variety of general office clerical and administrative task in support of the office, these duties include timekeeping for Government personnel at project site using financial management system, completes a bi-weekly time and attendance report. Arranges for staff travel, including, transportation, hotel reservations, preparing travel request, vouchers, etc. Maintain personnel data on employees along with processes of personnel related actions such as performance appraisals, work/leave schedules, incentive awards, training and travel and transportation. Construction Representative- Performing or leading others in the performance of the full range of field engineering functions associated with construction on marine structures such as locker, piers, revetments, break-walls and other structures associated with navigation and commercial harbors. Will perform reviews of plans and specifications to determine practicability from a construction viewpoint whether physical obstruction or other construction difficulties have been anticipating and whether materials selected are readily available. Reviews contractor safety plans prior to construction start, recommends changes to alleviate unsafe conditions, techniques, operations etc. Ensures adherence to safety provisions of the contract. Knowledge of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems/electronic principles including ability to comprehend and interpret drawings, specifications, schematics and technical manuals are required. Civil Engineer- This is an Army Acquisition and Technology Workforce position. In this position you will be responsible for both field and office engineering administration of all construction projects. Will act as contraction officer representative on construction contracts and interpret contract documents. Knowledge of professional engineering concepts and principles, communicating with technical personnel, state and local officials in support of engineering aspects and impacts of the project are required. Project Scheduler- Individual will serve as a special adviser to the Resident Engineer in implementing and maintaining schedules for the major construction projects. Responsible for applying a thorough understanding of the many aspect of project managements, contract administration, time impact analyses and other functions necessary for assessing and implementing application of construction schedules and utilizing Primavera P6. Will perform Critical Path analysis of the construction contractor’s proect schedule. Understand optional scenario drills and the impact of work around plans to near-term and long-range program objectives. Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the Primavera P6 network analysis schedule is required.
