Soft Skills for GED and CTE Classes in Sault Ste. Marie

Michigan Works!, in cooperation with the EUPISD, is taking part in a five-week soft skills training course offered to GED students and others looking to increase their skills in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

As part of a grant-funded GED attainment program, Michigan Works! staff members are asked to provide resume, interview, and soft skill training sessions one day per week as students gain knowledge in other fields, such as welding and nursing.

These classes are not limited to GED students. Members of the public interested in gaining skills can self-pay, and can receive training in soft skills and a chosen specialty, as well.

Two Michigan Works! staff members stand in front of the class. One is looking at a piece of paper and the other is laughing. A man with a hat can be see in the foreground.

This week, Michigan Works! staff members Holly and Leslie taught participants about how to dress for an interview, what you should and should not say, and how to prepare.

Next week, Holly and Leslie will be putting students through their paces as they participate in mock interviews.
